Chapter 2709: Chapter 2709: Is It Enough

“What is it?”

Julius Reed sensed there was a hidden meaning in Rian Harris’s words.

Such phrasing definitely meant he had discovered something.

“Do you know…” Rian Harris pointed to the mark on his own forehead, gritting his teeth as he said, “Do you know what this is?”

“A wound?” Julius Reed was a bit unsure, “Or is this the real reason why you’re hurt?”

“It is indeed a wound, and it was inflicted by a sharp weapon!” Rian Harris pointed at the injury, his hands clenched tightly into fists, “This spot was injured by a sharp weapon. And I know the owner of that weapon, I’m familiar with them.”

“Who?” Julius Reed understood.

Rian Harris was awakened from his slumber back then, believing it was a natural disaster, but in fact, it was a man-made calamity.

And it seemed he was killed by someone he knew.

“My good brother, the place where he slept is only three hundred miles away from me! That mountain was rich in spiritual power and suitable for recuperation. Now it seems he encountered something, woke up early, and worried about future competition with me, so he prepared to kill me.”

Rian Harris’s tone was filled with disappointment and pain.

“I can’t understand why he would do such a thing.”

Bang!

Rian Harris punched the icebox, and the reinforced steel around it, originally meant to restrain him, was directly pierced through.

Witnessing this scene, Merrill Caldwell was even more frightened.

Now it appeared that these so-called limitations had only restricted their own thinking.

The top martial artists couldn’t be restrained.

“I’ll help you solve your problem next. If he’s not dead, I’ll catch him and let you kill him personally.” Julius Reed lifted the teacup, took a sip of the tea, “I must say, this tea brewed with Boulevard’s snow water is really quite delicious.”

Merrill Caldwell had brought the best and cleanest snow water from Boulevard, coupled with Nelson’s tea leaves, it was simply a mortal world delicacy.

Refreshing and tasty.

And with a hint of sweetness.

“Tell me more about the events from back then.” Julius Reed stood up, walked to the window, gazed at the vast plains in front, and with a grin said, “I didn’t expect those Southern-sky people to play such a hand. Facing so many martial artists, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed.”

Could it be, that swordsman has some plan again?

Julius Reed decided not to think about it.

If everything were to rely on others, there would be no way to survive.

Your own fate should be controlled by yourself.

Julius Reed believed that the swordsman wasn’t him.

If he was paving the way for himself, it would be fine.

But if everything was orchestrated by the swordsman, Julius Reed felt very uncomfortable.

There was even a sense of disgust.

“Jesse River, oh Jesse River, why haven’t you appeared now?”

He shook his head.

The crown, indeed isn’t easy to wear.

“For this crown, countless people have slept.” Rian Harris spoke of this with a tinge of regret in his voice, “But in the end, I almost lost my life, and this crown is doomed not to be mine.”

“Had I known today, why didn’t I enjoy life back then, and live out my days?”

Rian Harris was lost in thought after lamenting.

“It’s normal, because it’s the only thing – even if there’s a one in ten thousand chance, someone will try to become that lucky person.”

Julius Reed walked over, patted Rian Harris on the shoulder, “You living until now might not have been a wrong decision.”

“Perhaps.” With Julius Reed’s words, Rian Harris felt much better, he thought for a while and said, “Many are asleep, but everyone harbors ulterior motives, no one would genuinely assist.”

“My suggestion is, you’ve already broken the dominoes and become the prime target, why not directly abandon the crown, let them fight over it?”

“No! That’s not my style.” Julius Reed shook his head, “A true king should face his enemies directly and crush them! If I put down this crown, even if it returns to me in the future, can I still lift it? Can I still wear it?”

Upon hearing this, Rian Harris fell silent.

“Alright.” Rian Harris nodded, sincerely admiring, “Earlier I had some doubts, but now your words have made me realize I did not follow the wrong person. I now understand why this crown is with you.”

He clasped his fists, “You are the true emperor!”

“But while fighting is necessary, you also need to use your brain; I don’t regard those without brains.”

Julius Reed sat back in the chair, smiled and said, “Tell me if you have any good ideas?”

“Good ideas exist, but our current situation is nearly a dead end. If you persist in holding onto the crown, you must directly defeat those experts. It’s the domino-breaking effect, there’s no way to avoid it.”

Rian Harris shook his head helplessly.

Once the domino breaks, there’s no turning back.

Discarding the crown may offer a slim chance of survival, but now there’s virtually no opportunity.

Only standing and facing death.

“Let me ask you two questions.” Julius Reed raised two fingers, “First, why do you compete for the crown?”

“Because without the crown, the future king of Nine Provinces is just a false king, unable to unleash the power of the Nine Provinces King Sword. Moreover, once you obtain the crown, you can gain the true Nine Provinces King’s ultimate skill.”

Rian Harris revealed everything he knew.

“Good, now the second question.” Julius Reed asked, “Do you know how to acquire that ultimate skill?”

“Of course I know, if I didn’t, how could I have slept? That would have been a joke.”

Rian Harris laughed, “Each of us knows clearly. Although some among us aren’t Nine Provinces Kings, those at the emperor realm know exactly what they should.”

“Very well, with your two answers, I feel relieved.” Julius Reed took out the Nine Provinces King Sword and placed it directly on the table, pointing to the sword and asking, “Will this be enough to fight them?”

“Not enough, but with this, I feel there’s at least a forty percent chance!”

Rian Harris’s eyes lit up; he hadn’t expected Julius Reed to have the Nine Provinces King Sword!

A sword or a crown alone can’t unleash maximum power.

But when the two are together, it’s formidable.

“How about this!”

Julius Reed clapped his hands, and someone came in bearing a chest.

When the chest was opened, it was full of Nine Provinces King’s books.

And secrets!

“You…” His pupils contracted sharply, turning to look at Julius Reed, his heart pounding faster!

“If you can learn its contents, add fifty more percent! Ninety percent! I guarantee your survival!” Rian Harris was at a loss for words; he felt extremely lucky to have sought survival earlier.

Such an opponent was too frightening.

“And this.” Julius Reed drew his sword and wrote three words on the wall.

“Julius Reed?” Rian Harris read them aloud.

“That’s my name! With that name, you can add another ten percent!”

Swish!

Julius Reed sheathed his sword.
