Chapter 2731: Chapter 2731: The Way of Kings
“Damn you, Julius Reed! There’s always someone stronger, always a higher sky!”
Pranay Martinez couldn’t help but sneer. “So you have a day like this too?”
“Slap him!”
Pa!
The fat shut-in smacked Pranay Martinez across the face and said impatiently, “In front of the Warden, who dares act unruly? Him dying isn’t perfectly normal?”
“Yes.” The smile on Pranay Martinez’s face vanished in an instant. He clenched his teeth, but didn’t explode.
The fat shut-in was one of the Warden’s people.
Someone like that, even the head jailer wouldn’t dare offend.
Even a big dog has to look at its master.
No matter how the Warden treated the fat shut-in, they could not overstep even half a step.
His originally great mood was completely swept away.
Pranay Martinez’s eyes locked dead on Julius Reed.
He suddenly realized that this enemy of his standing before him seemed to have never humiliated him like this.
Even if he had, there was respect hidden within.
“Julius Reed, if there’s a next life, I still want to compete with you.” Pranay Martinez sighed silently.
In front of the Warden, Julius Reed’s figure began to blur.
Instead, the blood-colored monk inside Julius Reed began to solidify.
Once Julius Reed vanished, he would become a vassal.
All his past memories and traces would be wiped clean.
He would become a puppet entirely controlled by the Warden.
No different from the six monks standing before him.
“Sometimes, getting happy too early is not a good thing.” Julius Reed’s originally ghostly figure suddenly grew clear again.
“You’re overdrawing your happiness. Often, behind happiness, there’s pain.”
The power around him roared into motion!
“Resistance is meaningless. Let me return a line to you—here, no one can escape the palm of my hand.”
The Warden spoke with absolute confidence.
But just as he finished, he suddenly realized something in his body was changing.
Those monks whose memories had been erased and who obeyed his every whim— the blood-red on their bodies was actually fading away, bit by bit!
Meanwhile, the monk inside Julius Reed grew even redder!
Julius Reed himself was turning red as well.
“What trick are you pulling!” the Warden demanded angrily.
“You’ll understand, just a little too late. By the time you figure it out, you’ll be just about dead.” Julius Reed kept up his movements.
Boom!
A dull explosion!
Julius Reed and the Warden split apart in an instant.
Sure, Julius Reed’s power had already been weakened by the Warden, but he had absorbed the power the Warden used to control those monks!
Golden light flared into existence!
Blinding to the extreme!
“Ah!” As the Warden let out a miserable scream, his chest suddenly burst open!
A monk wreathed in golden light stepped out from within.
This monk was different from the other five; there was no more blood-red on him, only pure golden light.
Julius Reed had stripped out the slaughter power inside him, restoring him to his original form.
“Heh, you really thought they could help you?” The Warden was clearly caught off guard and took a blow to his core from this monk.
But he still showed not the slightest panic; instead, he seemed almost calm. “When they were alive, I could beat all six of them at once. Now they’re mindless like this, and you think they’re of any use?”
“I have to admit, your line of thinking is correct. Even I didn’t think of this method.”
The Warden smoothed out his slightly chaotic Telekinesis and said, “What a pity. Someone this smart, I almost don’t want to wipe out your memories. Now what am I supposed to do with you?”
“Let me thank you in advance. When I kill you later, I’ll make it quick.”
Julius Reed spoke calmly.
“Hahaha! And what are you going to use? That one mindless corpse?”
The Warden couldn’t help but laugh. “Interesting! Really interesting! You’ve let me taste a fun I’ve never had before. I really want to see what you’ll do next.”
“Thank you for finally giving me a worthy opponent again.”
Once he steadied the Telekinesis in his body, he struck again!
The remaining four monks all stepped out.
Blood-red swirled around them.
And the monk inside Julius Reed was also released.
Without the Warden’s interference, Julius Reed expelled him with ease.
They were all remnant souls without Telekinesis.
On top of that, with their power siphoned off by Julius Reed, they had become masterless remnants.
But just as that Telekinesis surged forth, Julius Reed instantly poured the slaughter aura he had absorbed into it!
Then he shoved hard!
“Good kid, I was wondering whether that aura would backfire on you, but you actually held something back.”
The Warden nodded. “You’ve got brains, you’ve got methods. Shame you offended me. You have to die.”
With that, he reached out and grabbed. The monk Julius Reed had injected with slaughter aura was dragged back to him.
“Six against two, I don’t see you having much of a chance.”
The Warden shook his head.
At that moment!
The monk suddenly turned back and smashed a vicious palm into the Warden’s chest!
A blood-red swastika burst into existence!
The Warden’s Telekinesis started wavering, his body swaying as if he might topple.
But he quickly stabilized and raised his hand!
A knife glinting with a cold light appeared out of nowhere!
“Damn! You dare betray me!”
Swish!
The long blade came down!
That monk was cleaved clean in two.
The clotted red aura flowed back into the Warden’s body.
The remaining power in the monk scattered on the spot.
“I didn’t want to bring this out, but you still forced me to show you this blade forged from countless remnant souls!” The Warden stared at the knife in his hand, his tone icy.
He was truly enraged!
No one had ever provoked and schemed against him like this.
“This knife, once it touches your soul, will leave it permanently damaged.”
He finished, then looked at Julius Reed. “Tell me how you did it, and I’ll give you a clean death.”
Why had the high monk he’d always controlled suddenly struck out!
“The logic is simple. Because he carried the slaughter lust of two people, it exceeded your control. He’ll attack anyone near them. Including… you.”
Julius Reed stood where he was, unmoving, unprepared.
“Good, you really are a smart one. I keep my word—I’ll make it quick for you.”
With a wave of the Warden’s hand, the remaining four high monks stepped forward at once.
Blood light coiled around their bodies!
They were brimming with killing intent!
Their eyes, their bodies, even their Kasayas were all red!
“Walk well on your way.” The Warden stretched out his hand.
A smug smile on his face.
Pranay Martinez had wanted to warn him, but when he thought of the slap he’d just taken, he gave up.
He’d just watch.
No matter how strong Julius Reed was, this was still the Warden’s domain in the end.
“Perhaps you don’t know.”
Julius Reed closed his eyes, and Telekinesis began to condense above his head. “One of me is enough. Because as long as I’m here, I am king.”
As soon as he finished!
The crown above his head appeared in an instant!
A surge of kingly might shot out from Julius Reed’s body and slammed straight into that high monk!
The high monk opened his eyes again.
They shone with golden light!
“What… is that!” The Warden had a bad feeling, but this was his turf!
“Kill!”
With his command, one of the high monks thrust out his hand, smashing it down toward the monk Julius Reed had infused with kingly aura!
