Little Wang raised hand to look at his wrist watch. “It’s broken. I couldn’t call. Uncle Qin said he already called you and you would come get me at night.”

Just tell your mom and grandparents that you went with a friend of Dad. Your phone broke. You just stayed over at Dad’s friend’s home and had dinner. Okay?”

If Ruan Xia knew that Qin Yu was the one that took Little Wang, she would probably blame herself and think it was her fault that Little Wang encountered danger. She would probably confront Qin Yu over it. He didn’t want to see that happen. He didn’t want to bother trying to figure out Qin Yu’s purpose in kidnapping Little Wang either. He just wanted to minimize the impact of this on their small family as much as possible.

How to deal and resolve this matter and Qin Yu, he would handle all of that on his own. She shouldn’t know about this. She only needed to face a future where Qin Yu wouldn’t be reappearing. She only needed to think that this was just a harmless accident and Little Wang was never in danger.

That immediately caught Little Wang’s attention. Smiling, he high-fived Song Tingshen; this was a promise between men.

On their way back home, Little Wang called his grandparents. The two elders were almost in tears.

Song Tingshen’s thoughts drifted far as he drove. He was thinking about what Qin Yu had said.

Although his guess was far-fetched and unrealistic, it would explain why Qin Yu knew so much about Ruan Xia even though there was no intersection between them.
