Chapter 673: Chapter 228: Tan Ming Unleashes His Power, Encountering Gold Again! (Part 4)
Behind him came the crab-men’s shrieks. They tried to rush out, but a flash of blood-red light flared on the light gate, bouncing all the crab-men back hard so they didn’t dare approach again.
“How is it?” Luokuke had been on guard in a shadowed corner the whole time. Seeing Cheng Ye come out, he hurried over, dragging the cotton suit.
“Good news! Huge good news!”
Cheng Ye put on the cotton suit as he walked, talking as he moved. “Yesterday I blasted open the karst cave entrance, Tan Ming’s curse seeped in, and right now it’s fighting the Immortal Objects in there like crazy!”
“Tan Ming?” Luokuke froze for a moment, unable to react.
“The Petrification Curse under our feet, obviously!”
“Ah! The curse!” Luokuke’s mind finally spun around, and he instantly understood what this meant. Ecstasy flashed across his face. “Then we now…”
“Don’t rush to destroy the entrance yet.”
Cheng Ye cut him off. “Move, move, we go grab weapons first, then go in! While everything’s chaos, we kill more crab-men, and see if we can contain the infection sources inside. We weaken the Immortal Objects’ power first, then talk!”
Once ashore, Cheng Ye picked up the Red and Purple Dual Blades, while Luokuke also pulled two sharp short knives from the equipment crate.
In addition, each of them carried two Destruction Level Containment Boxes, so if they ran into any infection source that could be contained, they could act on the spot.
But before entering the Cotton Room this time, Cheng Ye deliberately stopped, activated his Wishful Size ability, and enlarged his body to the limit.
Sure enough, the Cotton Room seemed to sense his size change. The small gap that had been just big enough for two people to get through suddenly widened, turning into a huge passage large enough for the crab Fusion Body from yesterday, just enough for his current body size to squeeze in.
He crawled into the Cotton Room, and as he stepped onto the biological elevator, the familiar power of the runes quietly erupted.
But just as Cheng Ye had predicted, the runes only shrank his current size by six times and did not completely dispel the base effect of Wishful Size.

His height finally stopped at 86 centimeters. Still a “little dwarf,” sure, but compared to being compressed down to just over 30 centimeters before, this height was enough for him to swing both blades normally and barely exert combat strength.
What surprised him even more was that the physical stats stacked by Wishful Size had not been completely erased.
Part of it was offset by the runes’ power, but the rest still worked, boosting his strength and speed to more than double his usual!
“Hell yeah!”
Cheng Ye casually set the cotton suit down beside the light gate, not worried in the slightest it might be damaged.
He still had 100% energy anyway; if it really got lost, he could always make another one to pass through.
“I’ll go in first and clear the area. You count the time—come in three minutes later. Don’t show yourself early.”
“Got it!”
Luokuke nodded nervously at once, gripping the short knives on his back with both hands, his eyes locked tightly on the light gate.
Luckily, after his body shrank, his weapons and Containment Boxes also shrank proportionately, fitting perfectly in his hands.
When the three minutes were up, he first tossed the four Containment Boxes through the light gate, then stepped in himself.
Whoosh.
As soon as he steadied himself, a pungent smell of blood rushed into his nose. Around the light gate lay dozens of crab-men sprawled in all directions, their shells shattered into shards, dark green bodily fluid pooling across the ground.
Cheng Ye stood amidst the corpses, Purple Blade in his left hand and Red Blade in his right, looking like a Demon God.
If he were a bit bigger, he’d definitely look downright imposing.
“What are you staring for? Move! Don’t let them surround us!”
Cheng Ye called out in a low voice. Only then did Luokuke snap back to himself. He quickly sheathed his short knives behind his back, grabbed two Containment Boxes in each hand, and hurried after him.
Once they left the light gate’s area, Cheng Ye immediately used his hearing to locate the nearest fight and rushed over to one battlefield.
Twelve crab-men were besieging two blood-colored human figures.
The blood-colored figures were barely hanging on; every time they had just resurrected, they were corpse-camped and killed again by the crab-men.

The grass and trees within fifty meters were on the verge of being drained dry and turning yellow, and the figures’ resurrection speed grew slower and slower.
“All of you, die!”
Cheng Ye shouted low and charged in.
With his smaller size he was even more agile, and with his doubled physical stats, his speed was like a streaking afterimage, weaving freely among the crab-men.
The Red and Purple Dual Blades danced up and down; crab claws and crab legs flew off and hit the ground. In less than thirty seconds, all twelve crab-men were chopped to pieces, dark green fluid staining a patch of earth.
The two remaining blood-colored figures froze for a moment, staring blankly at Cheng Ye, then suddenly dropped prone, “sucking” at the ground like sponges drinking water.
Wisps of red aura seeped from their bodies into the soil. The already yellowing plants around them instantly lost their final trace of life and crumbled into dust.
And pale green strands of life force flowed back into the figures’ bodies, their shriveled forms gradually swelling and their color growing slightly brighter.
“So these things can actively pollute the soil and absorb life force?”
Cheng Ye blinked at the sight, but his blades never stopped. “Sorry, Lord Tan, I’ll be borrowing some of your aura!”
Blade light flashed; the two figures were instantly cut down into bloodwater.
They resurrected, and he cut them down again.
After doing this three times, all life within fifty meters vanished, turning into wisps of red breath.
At the same time, the Collector did not disappoint. Lines of prompts popped up on the panel.
[Collector has detected dissipating biological data, commencing automatic absorption…]
[Absorption complete. New entry added to bestiary: Tan Ming]
“Tan Ming?”
Cheng Ye’s heart jolted as he watched the bestiary page switch on its own.
The first page’s twenty entries had long been filled over these days of containment and slaughter.
The page flipped to the second one. Cheng Ye drew a deep breath, a bit nervous as he looked at the newest entry.
The next second—
A blazing yet familiar streak of gold suddenly flashed before his eyes!
…
